Welcome to the official website of the EEE Undergrad STAR Program

EEE Undergraduate Student Academic Research (STAR) Program is a one-year program created to provide EEE undergraduate students an opportunity to be a part of the various research groups in the department and conduct cutting-edge research, whether you join an established research group and contribute to the work, or pursue your own ideas.

As a STAR student you will have a chance to get know department faculty and graduate students, conduct research in any field that you may want to work in. If you are planning to continue your studies in the graduate school STAR program may provide you an opportunity to start your work early.

A list of projects is provided in the Projects tab, along with the STAR advisor name. These are short descriptions to get you started with your discussion with the advisors. You may fine-tune the research topic with your advisor or propose a completely new subject.

If you would like to work with faculty members who are not listed in the projects tab, you may want to talk to them directly. If you agree on a project, fill out the application form and notify the star program committee.

EEE STAR program is open to all students with good academic standing. Please check the requirements tab for more details.

Please note that, you should be able to commit a set number of hours per week to work on your research subject. The duration of your studies and the required time will be determined by the STAR advisor.

The one-year program will end with final report submissions, poster presentations and the award ceremony where the most successful projects will be rewarded.

Participating STAR undergraduate students will also receive a special publication award after presenting their posters if they involve in a conference/journal paper submission and they are the first student author of the submission (i.e. either the first author of the paper or the first student in the author list after the faculty member(s).)
